Music Show

This effect is essentially a simple music visualization. By syncing the rhythm to the World Position Offset of a special model, I was able to create this result. The track used for this visualization is “Crying Over You ◐” by HONNE and Beka.

Breakdown

Particle systems

Only one particle system was used in this effect. Its function was to spawn particles that can add more mood to the scene.

Shaders

To the right are some master materials which composed all the shaders in the project. They are very important in this project because almost all artistic elements come from them, such WPO, color change, and rthym syncing.

Dynamic Mask

The core concept of how to do this effect is to convert the pitch of the music into a greyscale map, which will be used to control the intensity of WPO. In order to do this, I did some work in Adobe After Effects and got the pitch chart. Then I imported it into Unreal, which gives me a video media that allows me to use in the material.
